We are Australia’s digital arts festival.

The smiles, the sunburn, the sounds, the sky and the clouds. The strangers, the friends, and the foreigners. The driving, the dancing, the laughing, and the falling over in the dark. The campsite envy, the forgetting of socks, the lack of ice and surplus of dirt. These are the things which will define the greatest weekend of your life. There will be no rules, save that you respect one another, the land and yourself. There will be no walls, only patchwork fences that do little to shut out the beauty of the surrounding Australian bush. For three days you will live with thousands of strangers, encountering the limits of human sight and sound and surpassing them, making new friends and experiencing all that life has to offer.

Welcome to paradise. Welcome to the wild world of Strawberry Fields.

From humble beginnings only three years ago, Strawberry Fields is back in 2011 with the most anticipated international and local line-ups ever to hit Australian shores, and a bigger team dedicated to bringing you the most unique and thorough production to date. Indulge yourself in a sensory feast, including crystal clear state-of-the-art sound, incredible visual productions, cortex tingling lights and lasers, outdoor cinema, market stalls, artistic installations, astral gallery, world class forum discussion and more. Its time to escape the urban mundane for a weekend of the unexpected, deep in the great Australian bush.
Yorta Yorta Dhungala is the traditional name for the river which divides Victoria and New South Wales, running right through the Barmah Forest. In 2010 we first celebrated our partnership with the traditional land owners, the Yorta Yorta people, and we are proud to continue this into 2011. We thank and celebrate the Yorta Yorta people of the border regions, who have graciously agreed to work with us in past and continued to provide their support to date. We hope to provide every opportunity to for native land owners to have an active role in facilitating our events, and we hope that this marks a new tradition in mutual cooperation and respect. This is a weekend that is intended to build new bridges and relationships through the shared experience of camping, arts, and entertainment. You are our family! And as the Strawberry Family is only able to gather once a year we consider our time together precious – come and enjoy the complete experience and don’t be afraid to venture outside of your comfort zone. Meet a stranger, remember their name. Listen to some new music, and allow it to open up a whole new world for you.
